My big reason for going up the Brooks Range was to do a little hiking. So,
here I am on a day hike with the pipeline snaking around in the background. I'm
not sure but this may have been part of the western edge of ANWR. As you can see
it was a great day for hiking, really hot (incredible for up here... but then
the last time I was on the North Slope they were having record highs all across
the Slope.) and most of the bugs were in hiding. There was just enough of a
breeze to keep them at bay.
