Turnagain pass in early winter. Turnagain pass is between Anchorage and all the towns on the Kenai Peninsula if you're driving. We passed through here in November of 2000. It was an interesting drive. Mike and I were towing several thousand pounds of gear headed towards Kenai and Soldotna and forgot to gas up in Girdwood, about an hour south of Anchorage. So, we were running on empy by this point in the trip. We just barely made it to cooper's landing, a small town near the headwaters of the Kenai River.
