Now we're on the home stretch walking
a low ridge back to the truck. Here it's in site but yet quite far
away. As you can see Bergey's rearing to go. About a mile and a half
back from here we came across the caribou herd from the day before.
This time however Bergey saw them and got super excited. Her barking
scared the caribou and they did a few semi-circles before charging
in the opposite direction. They went about a mile through tussocks
and heavy brush in just a few minutes and we soon saw them across
the valley headed back to our camp the day before. So, Bergey was
all fired up after that chasing new strange smells as far as her leash
would take her. All in all, a pretty fun trip. Rained a little much
but hey, I can't complain being from Sitka. So, hopefully I'll be
back again a little later in the summer when there isn't quite so
much snow in the hills. |
