The boots worked awesome. It's now on to version two. Basically this version was an outer stuff sack with a garbage boot inside to keep my feet dry. I stuck blue mattress pad pieces in between to keep the garbage bags from ripping but by the end of the trip I wasn't using the foam. In fact, the stuff sacks did a decent job of keeping the water out. So, now, thinking back to Rob Morris's swimming in the Teslin on my first river trip and how his Thompson Watersealed vest beaded up nicely when wet and didn't appear to actually get wet I'm thinking round two will be to give the stuff sacks a nice coating of water seal... stay tuned.
