Freezing and hoping for a plane.

Apparently the weather man didn't get the memo that Jessie and I are to meet up in Fairbanks before she leaves for England Sunday. It's miserably cold out here today. Brrr! Yeah, I don't know what Plan B is but we have at least a little food to get us through tomorrow.

Yeah, freezing. We awoke to snow and it's been down hill ever since. Made a trip out to one of the sites today with 100 pounds on the back. New record (I think but not sure, may have hit that several years ago with Mike on a GW misadventure). Still live to tell the tale though.

oh well. I'm tired and it's bed time. Hopefully you'll not receive any further posts from Ivotuk.

Dima looks so serious!! He must have wet socks or something...

Hi Bob We are into late summer where we are. Still it looks interesting where you are. Give us Lat & Long & some picture of the wild life?

I know, it was tough to be toooo cheerful with all that snow on the ground and blowing around in the air. Plus the warmest thing going was the kitchen tent and it was still never got much more than 45F. That and the sleeping bag pretty much.

Hi Cliff, we were at: N68.48000 W155.74556
On the google maps that looks like this:

Hopefully tonight or maybe tomorrow night I'll get some more animals up there but it was pretty meager, that vole I posted earlier and some caribou way off in a haze of snow was pretty much it for the trip. There was a herd of about 2000 around but we only saw a hundred or so. Nice place but also pretty nice to be back. Wanted to get hiking on that mountain but the weather was to miserable. Maybe next time...
